Acknowledgement of Presidential Testimonial Letter

The Presidential Testimonial Letter of Appreciation was initiated by President Harry S. Truman to thank the Merchant Marine and Naval Armed Guard of World War II for its sacrificial service as civilian workers risking their lives in harms way. All members of the Merchant Marine who served between 1 January 1939 to 1 January 1947 are authorized this Display Recognition of service and sacrifice.
