This Display Recognition is available ONLY to authorized recipients who possess orders, or authorization form, or release documentation that confirms award eligibility. (See "Issue Requirements"). To obtain either a Display Medal or a Display Recognition for your authorized award you will be required to provide military-issued documentation authorizing your award. There are no exceptions. United States Forces Korea (USFK) is responsible for supporting and training joint ROK-U.S. Forces and United Nations Command multinational Forces. Established on July 1, 1957, USFK supports both the CFC and UNC and participates annually in joint and combined operations with CFC to train and maintain readiness for personnel and augmentation units. The mission is to deter aggression and if necessary, defend the Republic of Korea to maintain stability in Northeast Asia. The Service Members of the United States and the Republic of Korea have stood together maintaining the Armistice and setting the conditions for stability and prosperity in the Republic of Korea.
Authorized to all military and civilian personnel in service with or under command of the United States Forces, Korea. (Unit awards apply to members who served during the unit's award period. See Meritorious, Valorous, Presidential, Superior, Outstanding and other unit award categories.)
